Current and past academic projects
in inverse chronological order
- PROMIS - Professional Master in Information Security,
step 2 (of 2) funded by the Knowledge Foundation (KKS),
2021-2025. The project focus is on evolving the didactics needed
to offer advanced level security courses and programs to
professionals working in industry and improve on currently
successful case-based, semi-distributed flexible learning
methods. My responsibility is to coordinate course development
between multiple departments at BTH as well as develop courses
in the areas of trusted systems and binary analysis. https://promisedu.se
- PROMIS - Professional Master in Information Security,
step 1 (of 2) funded by the Knowledge Foundation (KKS),
2019-2021. The project focus is on evolving the didactics needed
to offer advanced level security courses and programs to
professionals working in industry and improve on currently
successful case-based, semi-distributed flexible learning
methods. My responsibility is to develop a modern Software
Security course suitable for remote education and contribute to
the application for step 2 of the project. https://promisedu.se
- Symphony – Supply-and-Demand-based Service Exposure using
Robust Distributed Concepts, funded by the Knowledge
Foundation (KKS), 2020-2022. Collaboration with Ericsson
Research and Affärsverken to investigate and solve security,
confidentiality, privacy and provenance needs for a energy
marketplace. Co-advising a PhD student in deriving the security
requirements for the marketplace and in defining security
services to satisfy the found requirements. https://www.bth.se/eng/about-bth/organisation/faculty-of-computing/dida/symphony_kks
- Directed Air Data Link, funded by VINNOVA (NFFFP7),
2019-2022. Collaboration with SAAB Aeronautics and SAAB
Surveillance to improve the performance and resilience of
communication for airborne platforms.
- Bonseyes: Artificial Intelligence Marketplace, funded
by EU H2020, 2016 – 2019. Co-advised a PhD student in defining
and implementing the security architecture for an AI
marketplace. https://www.bonseyes.eu
- Test Arena Blekinge: IT-security, funded by Swedish
Agency for Economic and Regional Growth through Blue Science
Park, 2017-2019. Collaboration with Outpost24 and Blue Science
Park. Co-advised a PhD student on scanning IPv6 networks for
active hosts and setting up a security testbed. https://www.bluesciencepark.se/ehalsa/article/test-arena-blekinge
- BigData@BTH: Scalable resource-efficient systems for
big data analytics, research profile funded by the Knowledge
Foundation (KKS), 2014 – 2020 (own involvement until 2016). My
work was in the area of foundations and enabling technologies:
data communications and networks, multicore and cloud, and
storage systems. https://a.bth.se/bigdata
- Consumption OptimizatioN in VIdeo NEtworks (CONVINcE)
funded by Celtic Plus, 2014-2017. Project received “Celtic-Plus
Excellence Award”. I worked with defining the architecture and
systems requirements for IP-based video distribution networks
with the aim of reducing the overall power consumption. https://convince.wp.imtbs-tsp.eu
- FI-PPP eXperimental Infrastructures for the Future
Internet (XIFI) funded by FP7-ICT, 2014 – 2015.
Establishment and operation of an OpenStack-based Future
Internet infrastructure node. I had a key technical role in
setting up an OpenStack node at BTH and in enabling it to
successfully join a European federated cloud (XIFI). https://www.fi-ppp.eu/projects/xifi
- CLOUDTEST – Cloud Computing and Virtualization in
Large Test Environments, funded by the Knowledge
Foundation (KKS) 2012 – 2013. Joint project with Ericsson AB and
Compuverde AB (former ILT Innovations) in designing a virtual
testbed for Ericsson and evaluate its performance, with emphasis
on computation and storage performance during live migration. I
was co-advising a PhD student in evaluating the performance of
the testbed.
- Compuverde, Forska&Väx project funded by VINNOVA,
2012 – 2014. Development of a cache solution for Compuverde AB’s
distributed storage solution and evaluation of the solution
through performance measurements. I was involved in the
evaluation of the cache solution.
- Routing in Overlay Networks (ROVER), funded by Euro-NGI
during 2006 and by Swedish Foundation for Internet
Infrastructure (IIS) during 2007 – 2008. Research on routing
algorithms and protocols for multimedia distribution in overlay
networks as part of my PhD studies.
- Internet Next Generation Analysis (INGA), funded by
VINNOVA, 2003 – 2005. Research work involving measurement and
analysis of traffic from peer-to-peer (P2P) systems as part of
my PhD studies.
